Last weekend we were treated to some relatively warm weather here in Toronto and we definitely took advantage of it with our engagement session with Caroline and Nick at the Evergreen Brickworks. It was a pretty fun and adventurous session where we even got to travel up a giant hill. Unfortunately the hardest part was getting down. The Brickworks location itself was actually very nice and was quite a popular hangout for people out walking their dogs. Will definitely come back and check it out again in the future.

This engagement session was probably the shortest I’ve ever done as it was just freezing cold during the early months of January. We ended up finishing in just under 45 minutes as it was too chilly to continue. From the photos you can really tell that Jing Jing and Graham are a super fun young couple. They brought some fantastic props and extra clothing that just added something extra to an already awesome shoot. I tried looking for “the hat” in stores but wasn’t able to find it. It’s supposedly can be found at the Pacific Mall if anyone is interested.

Donna and Lenny drove down from Montreal for the Christmas holidays to do an engagement session in Toronto! The two of them sported fashionable Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics red mittens which are currently really popular right now. It was a pretty chilly day out but we had some nice warm sunshine and even ran into a couple of coyotes along the way.

Today I take you on a quick break away from the usual wedding related posts to bring to your attention an important cause that I took part in last weekend. It all started when I was contacted a few weeks ago by makeup artist Rhia Amio who I had previously worked with on Jenny and Brad’s wedding back last summer. She was wondering if I’d be interested in volunteering my photography services in a Hope for Haiti fundraising event. This beauty benefit would bring together many professional makeup artists, hair stylists, product sponsors, and photographers to raise money in support of Haiti. Attendees gave a small donation and enjoyed an afternoon of being pampered with makeup, hair, photography, free food, and generous surprise gift bags! I was one of the photographers who took some before and after photos of everyone but I also got to sneak in some videography which I always enjoy but seldom have time to indulge in.
Check out some of the photos and video! Also remember to do your part and donate today! www.redcross.ca/helpnow
