Sue + Ben | engagement

June 16, 2010

INTRODUCTION:
I met Sue and Ben through friends and I am excited to be documenting their wedding later this year! At the beginning of this session while we were standing inside fields of flowers Sue suddenly started jumping around and dancing up and down! At first Ben and I thought she was crazy but apparently we had stumbled upon several giant ant hills! You can just imagine the hysteria that ensued afterward. I think it was worth it though for the shots in the flowers. Thanks for holding still for a few minutes Sue.

INTRODUCTION:
What an interesting shoot! So many interesting things happened on our random stroll through the Evergreen Brickworks. We found a rock in a empty green field that was almost exactly like where Arthur proposed to Leona months ago that we used to re-enact the deed. We also had a neato ringshot where Arthur almost ate the ring! Thanks for coming out you two!

INTRODUCTION:
A few weeks back Amy decided to surprise Simon with a spontaneous couple’s photography session together to mark their two year anniversary. I photograph couples all the time before their wedding and during their wedding and this is one of the first times I get you use my photography to celebrate their wedding together like this. You can see from the photos that after two years they are still a very strong and happy couple together in the way they have fun and good around.

INTRODUCTION:
I met Alice and Matt in one of the most unique ways ever! I had just posted photos from another of my couples, Emily and Newton, and as they were checking them out on their iPhone while at a party their friends Alice and Matt saw them, loved them, and contacted me about doing an engagement session or two with them. The iPhone with it’s big gorgeous screen is just such a powerful tool for photographers everywhere. Although Alice and Matt already have a photographer for their destination wedding they decided to work with me for an engagement session as they mentioned how my couples look so natural and how comfortable in front of the camera and they wanted to make sure they looked great for their wedding photos. A lot of people mention how natural and relaxed everyone looks in my photos and it’s really just me being able to allow my couples to relax and have fun while we take photos. I try not to pose too heavily and just allow the bride-and-groom to be to just share some intimate time together with each other.

INTRODUCTION:
I got to work with Jing Jing and Graham one more time before their wedding this weekend to get comfortable and make sure everyone is relaxed in front of the camera for Saturday and we had a ton of fun just walking around the downtown Toronto area. They’re an extremely cute and fun couple to work with and we got some interesting shots out of this session. Not only did we get lots of photos we also took some time out to enjoy some Korean BBQ (complete with false fire alarm and firefighters) and bubble tea before the night ended.
