About Me
January 21, 2008I am a professional photographer based in Toronto Ontario, Canada. I first started out shooting fashion, moved on to photojournalism, and have have now fallen in love with wedding photography. Working with real people, capturing real emotions and expressions really puts a smile to my face. I find that with my background in fashion, attention to detail, and fun light hearted personality I can really get to know people and bring out their best in each photo! I feel my work is heavily influenced by editorial fashion, photojournalistic storytelling, and modern day romance. To enquire about my reasonable rates and availability feel free to contact me by email. I look forward to hearing from you!

David: Hey i came here from RFD's photo post thing. and someone said you had like lighting tutorials and stuff on this website, lol i cant seem to find them?
spencerfu: Hello David, I have been really busy with school, life, and taking photos so I haven't really had a chance to put as many tutorials on my blog as I would have liked. I think I will try to go back later and revamp the blog articles to comment on the lighting used in each photo set. I think the ONLY lighting tutorial on my blog so far is this one: http://spencerfu.wordpress.com/2008/01/21/how-the-vogue-photos-were-made/ If you have any questions regarding any of the photos on this website or how the lighting was accomplished feel free to ask. I would just like to point out that while I do a lot of work with lighting, I also use HEAVY amounts of Photoshop. And although Photoshop cannot take over the place of lighting, it can do a pretty good job at enhancing everything. If you want to check out some even better blogs on lighting check out: www.strobist.blogspot.com (lots of crazy off-camera flash articles) http://bertstephani.com/blog/?cat=4 (neat off-camera flash with models example/tutorial videos) Have fun shooting! -Spencer
Fabiano: You don't have to go far to find other strobist fans. Nice to know about you. You have some really good work going on. Wish you the best.
Ivan: Hi spencer, im going to buy a digital camera, a semi-pro, i was thinking about Nikon d60???? but i read some negative reviews about it!!!! can you suggest any great camera for an amateur!!!! thanx
dan: I might be interested in trading you my 5D for your used 1d Mk II as I am doing a special process that requires a lower native megapixel count. Are you interested. Dan
spencerfu: Very. :P I will send you an email.
Candice: Hi Spencer, I am a wedding planner in Mumbai, India. I love your photography and would love to use some of your pictures on the main page of my website (with credits of course). Do let me know if you would be open to it and I could let you know which pictures I would like to use. Cheers Candice Pereira (Marry Me - The Wedding Consultants) PS - I can also send you the final look of my site for you to see before you decide
Yasmin: Hey Spencer! I know we just took the engagement pictures last week but I was wondering if I can have the one of me and Tu sitting on the rock bench. He was wearing the seal hat and I was looking and laughing at him. Thanks so much. You can email it to me if you have time. I really want to see how it looks like. :)
spencerfu: Will do Yasmin!
Jack Wong: Hello Spencer. My wedding will be in July 31 2010. Typical Chinese wedding process. I'd probably need a photographer for 15 hours..... from groom's and bride's house both in Mississauga, then ceremony at Old Mills Inn at 1pm, and Reception at MEC in Markham @ 6-7. Let me know your availability and rate. Budget is currently our biggest issue, and hope you can give us your best rates. Thanks! :)
rosita ho: I have spoken to your dad about your work and am very interested in having you do head shots of my family. Please contact me as soon as possible.
Fai Chounet: Hi Spencer, I stumbled upon your website and love your photos. My fiance and I are planning to have a small, semi elopement wedding (less than 15 people). We would love to know about your rates and availability for this coming May-June, 2010. We are not planning to have a reception, just a small wedding ceremony at a Church and taking photos at a garden. It wouldn't take very long, probably less than 6 hours or so. I'm sorry it's quite last minute. My fiance and I are currently living in different countries, we are trying to figure the exact date of our wedding. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you,
