INTRODUCTION:
With the cold Toronto weather approaching, the photography part of the wedding season is winding down but meanwhile I am catching up on all the editing and post-processing of the thousands of photos. Here is a wedding from a while back in October of the super awesome couple of Alison and Nic. The two of them tied the knot at the gorgeous Field House section of the Berekely Church in Toronto. The venue itself is a beautiful location that offers small intimate group seating that is just overflowing in a fun quirky and unique rustic atmosphere. Thanks for letting my assistant John and I be part of your wedding!

And we’re back! With a shiny new computer to work with! Here’s another update for you … Angela and Anthony met back up with me for another photo session the day after the previous engagement shoot. For this quick mini-session we wanted to incorporate their three Jack Russell Terriers (Pickles, Taters, and Olives) whom are very special and loved dearly by their owners. The three cute doggies definitely have a lot of energy and where a lot of fun to work with. Hopefully the three of them can be part of the wedding day festivities as well.

INTRODUCTION:
Several weekends back I once again met up with Rebecca and Alvin to do another fun engagement shoot together. This time we journeyed all the way out to the west end of Toronto to the High Park area. Surrounded by the very last moments of summer season we were treated with relatively warm weather, green trees and grass, as well as some very friendly wildlife.

TECHNIQUE:
I am just going to quickly touch up on this subject here but I wanted to remind all the photographers out there that we should always remember to charge our batteries before a big shoot. Plus always bring a spare battery just in case. Finally have a spare of a spare. This is where a bulky battery grip comes in handy, and although I prefer the feel of going without a grip, the AA-battery tray holder that allows us to substitute regularly available AA batteries into our cameras sure comes in handy. Finally I would like to mention battery efficient the Canon 5D Mark2 is especially when shooting without live view. I can easily shoot slightly under 2000 photos with one battery. Although this I’ve had this number go as low as 500 when using live view quite a bit. We’ll have to save the article on the extreme benefits of live view for another day.

INTRODUCTION:
I took a bit of a break from work the other day to finish editing a video of a recent birthday party I attended several weekends back. Here’s a quicky summary as fFamily and friends gather to celebrate Victoria’s “sweet 16th” birthday party. Festivities included BBQ, dancing, presents, and over four different kinds of cake. This is also the first time that I had the chance to play with the video recording features of my relatively new Canon 5D Mark II. It looks like it definitely requires a whole new creative skill set compared to photography but I think I did an okay job with the camera and just a Canon 24mm F1.4L and 85mm F1.8 lens. Look forward to more videos in the future! It’s pretty neat that still camera technology has now evolved so we can film videos as well!

INTRODUCTION:
Debbie and Jason got married a while back on the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and celebrated their wedding day with family and friends at The Garden Banquet and Convention Center in Brampton. While not busy looking great in front of the camera the two spend most of their time sharing the responsibilities of running the Yoga Tree yoga studios in Richmond Hill and Thornhill. The wedding was a long one that took us from Markham, to Scarborough, to Newmarket, and finally all the way to Brampton. Me and my assistant John had an amazing time working with the two of them and wish them all the best next week as they head out to their honeymoon in Morocco, Spain Africa.
