INTRODUCTION:
Another Canadian Cancer Society promo to share. A while back I ran a very successful Canadian Cancer Society promotion, where I donated my time for free engagement photos with a small donation to support the fight against cancer, to raise money for the Toronto Relay for Life event. Here’s the second session I donated with Karen and Billy who were interested in having some photos taken together. We did this shoot near the Toronto Distillery District but we quickly moved to the surrounding area to round off the session and add some more variety to the locations. Billy was an EXTREMELY good sport and even pretended to be Spiderman for us. Thanks for helping me support a good cause!

Soniel and Ron are the cutest couple ever! It was a lot of fun working with the two of them as although very different you can truly tell they love each other very much. They definitely made the shoot fun and exciting. Looking forward to their upcoming wedding!

A couple weekends back I had the chance to be part of the very unique wedding ceremony of Leanne and Mike . The wedding started off pretty normal with the bride and groom getting ready and doing their last minute preparations at Willow Pond Country Bed and Breakfast an hour’s drive away from Toronto. But what really made this wedding unique was that the entire ceremony was outdoors, at night, under a willow tree, lit only by candles and Christmas lights! Very unique, very different, and very awesome. It was great to be part of your wedding day celebrations! A special thanks goes out to Ryan of Ryan Lau Photography for lending a hand.

INTRODUCTION:
A couple weekends ago I had to pleasure to photograph staff of the Yoga Tree yoga studios based in Richmond Hill, Ontario. The owners of studio are none other than Debbie + Jason who I will again have the pleasure of photographing for their wedding in October. There studios super clean and modern and I can’t wait to enroll and try out some yoga! They even do baby yoga (see photo below). Check out some of the talented instructors of Yoga Tree in the rest of this post.

TECHNIQUE:
For this session in the middle of the day, the sun was out in full force. Normally we as photographers shun this sort of light but if we just embrace it and learn to use it we get many more useful photography hours during the day! All these shots were done using natural light and zero reflectors or crazy light modifiers like the Gary Fong Dong. Just position the subject so that the shadows don’t interfere with your subject’s faces/bodies and you’re good to go! Spend less time worrying about your background, camera settings, or flash output power and concentrate on getting your subject to give you a nice large genuine smile.

Well here is the first of many of the promo photo sessions that we did. Stephanie and Duane were great sports and didn’t mind hanging out in the dreary rainy Toronto weather at all as we headed down to the St. Lawrence Market and the surrounding area for our photo shoot.
