Introduction:
I met Alison and Nic through my other wedding clients Debbie and Jason. Their weddings in October are going to be back to back so it will be an exciting two weeks. The engagement shoot we did around the Kensington Market turned out to be a lot of fun and I think it really shows in the images. Even though we got hit by rain and cloudy weather we kept going and were pleasantly rewarded by lots of sun afterward.

PS: Apparently Alison and Nic swear that the Hua Sang Seafood Restaurant is one of the BEST places to eat Lobster in Toronto. Going to definitely check it out next time.

Technique:
Sometimes it’s not all about posing your subjects and you may find you get better results by making people laugh and capturing the resulting hilarious reactions. The important thing is to just have fun with it!

Introduction:
I’ve been pretty busy recently but I am happy to say that I have lots of fun stuff coming up and hopefully I can post some of it here soon. Here are some early morning engagement pictures from Leanne and Mike. I have the pleasure of photographing their outdoorsy wedding later this month! There were tons of mosquitoes at the park and I think we were all bit numerous times. They bugs had a buffet on my back (9 bites) and I am sure they had lots of fun with Mike’s head as I had to Photoshop out plenty of small bites. Like all my photos in crazy situations they are definitely work the extra effort though!

Technique:
Normally early morning sun, in this case we started at 9:30AM, and late afternoon sunsets are the best time for photography as you avoid harsh contrasty shadows and uneven light. Plus it’s super hot in the middle of the day and you quickly get very tired. One tip for if you get stuck shooting in the middle of the day is to find nice shaded areas where the light is more flat and even.
